INDUCTION HARDENING

The aim of the induction hardening is to create a surface layer owing martensitic microstructure on the surface of the product treated thus rising the the wear resistant of the surface. The hardened surface layer creates compressive stress state on the surface thus improving the impact and fatique toughness of the product handled.

Hardened and tempered steels as well as medium carbon steels are normally used in induction hardening applications.

Induction heating is used to harden several kinds of shafts and pins. It is also suitable when surface hardening of gears, especially gears owing large dimensions. Also the complex shape samples can be hardened when using specifically designed inductors.

Our induction heating facilities are awailable both at Kauhava and Hämeenkyrö. Hämeenkyrö factory is specified in handling of products owing large dimensions.

Kauhava:

Device 1: Products  having length up to 2000 mm and diameter up to 60 mm can be treated. Power of the device is 50 kW and frecvency will be varied between 5…25 kHz.

Device 2: Products  having length up to 270 mm and diameter up to 1500 mm can be treated. Power of the device is 50 kW and frecvency is 50 kHz.

Hämeenkyrö:

Products  having length up to 3000 mm and diameter up to 3000 mm can be treated. Power of the device is 600 / 500 kW and frecvency will be varied between 5…10 kHz.
